The Chattar Manzil used as a Field Hospital, showing the King's Boat, Lucknow, 1858
Photograph by Felice Beato (1825-1907), Indian Mutiny (1857-1859), 1858.
Anchored on the River Gumti beside the Chattar Manzil palace is the Nawab Sadaat Ali Khan's (1798-1814) boat, shaped like a fish, an ancient symbol of sovereignty that had long been associated with the Lucknow nawabs.
