Wana from Gibraltar piquet, 1929

The cantonment on Wana Plain was the headquarters for the regular British and Indian forces in South Waziristan, as well as the base for the South Waziristan Militia.

From a collection of nine photographs collected by Colonel Stanley van Buren Laing, 76th Punjabis, 1st Punjab Regiment 3rd Bn, 1912-1930.
