Manuscript diary of Lieutenant Charles Mosse, 120th Rajputana Rifles between 16 July 1914 and 28 September 1915
Mosse's diary covers the outbreak of World War One (1914-1918), his journey to India by ship and then subsequent operations in Mesopotamia, including the landings in November 1914, the capture of Basra (1914) and Nasiriyeh (1915) and the Battle of Shaiba (1915). He also describes later events including his outpost duty on the River Euphrates, the layout of which he also sketches.
