Pattern 14 Mk I* .303 in bolt action magazine rifle, sealed pattern
A 'sealed pattern' is a master pattern of any item that the British Army issued to soldiers. It provided clothing or equipment suppliers with an example to copy.
This pattern was manufactured at the Royal Small Arms Factory in Enfield and sealed in 1914. It was transferred from the Enfield Pattern Room to the National Army Museum in 1966, with one other being kept at Enfield.
