A portrait of Ghulam Hyder Khan (1816-1858) with pipe and pomegranates, with the two minarets of Ghazni in the background. Ghulam Hyder Khan was the fourth son of Dost Mohammed Khan, Emir of Afghanistan, and commanded the defence of Ghazni when the British invaded Afghanistan in 1839.
