Miniature portrait in watercolour on ivory, artist unknown, 1810 (c).
This bust-length portrait miniature is contained in a glazed, gold frame with a suspension ring and with four sections of dark brown hair woven in a diamond pattern verso.
Ensign William Turnstall served in the 36th Regiment of Foot from May 1809. Promoted lieutenant in 1812, he was wounded at the Battle of Nivelle in 1813 and was placed on half pay in 1819.
