Cap badge, other ranks, 5th Royal Inniskilling Dragoon Guards, 1940 (c)
Die-struck white metal initials DG intertwined with the Roman numeral V, surmounted by a white metal King's crown, all upon a green cloth ground. Split pin fitting at back.
This badge depicts the regimental title reduced to its briefest form. It does not suggest any of the historic associations of the two units, The Inniskillings (6th Dragoons) and 5th Dragoon Guards (Princess Charlotte of Wales's), which wore it following their amalgamation in 1922.
