Irish bagpipes used by the 2nd Battalion, The Royal Irish Regiment, 1914 (c)

Made by Hawkes and Son, London.

Irish Pipes come in two forms: the mouth blown warpipe (shown here) and the bellows blown Uilean pipe. The Royal Irish Regiment recruited from County Tipperary, Waterford, Wexford and Kilkenny. Its garrison depot was at Clonmel.
