Captain Charles de Beauvoir Chepmell, 53rd Regiment of Foot, 1829 (c)

Originally raised in 1755, by 1829 the 53rd (the Shropshire) Regiment of Foot were stationed on Gibraltar. They remained there until 1834 when they transferred to Malta for two years and then to the British garrison on the Ionian Islands.
