Manuscript letter from Lieutenant William Cowper Coles, 4th (Queen's Own) Dragoons, sent to his father, 7 January 1810

Contains some bi-directional writing in part.

The letter was sent from Lisbon to his father, Charles Coles, in Hampshire. William Coles was then serving with the 4th (Queen's Own) Dragoons in the Peninsular War (1808-1814).

From a collection of letters written by Lieutenant W C Coles to his family, 1806-1817.
