3rd China War Medal 1900, with clasp, 'Relief of Pekin', awarded to Lance Naik Kuppusami, Queen's Own Corps of Madras Sappers and Miners
Circular, silver campaign medal with, on the obverse, a portrait of Queen Victoria, with the inscription, 'Victoria Regina et Imperatrix', around the upper edge. On the reverse, a shield bearing the Royal Arms with a palm tree and a trophy of arms, with the inscription, 'Armis Exposcere Pacim', around the upper edge, and the inscription, 'China 1900', in the exergue below.
The China War Medal 1900 was approved in 1901 for issue to British and Imperial troops who fought during the 3rd China War, or 'Boxer Rebellion' of 1900.
