Officer's shako, 43rd (Monmouthshire) Regiment of Foot (Light Infantry), 1815 (c)

This shako was worn by Lieutenant William Kershaw who served with the regiment from 1813 to 1817. During this period his unit served in the Peninsular War (1808-1814) and at the Battle of New Orleans in 1815.
