Leaving Tientsin for Tsingtao, 19 September 1914

British officers on board the SS 'Shuntien' at Tientsin. The officer third from left is Major-General Nathaniel Barnardiston who commanded the 1,500-strong British force sent to assist the Japanese in the capture of the German port of Tsingtao.
