Cap badge, other ranks, The South Wales Borderers, Pattern 1896 (post, 1896 (c)-1964 (c)

This badge consists of a silver sphinx facing left on an honour plinth inscribed 'Egypt'. Below this are the silver initials 'SWB' at the bottom of a wreath. The sphinx emblem was awarded to the regiment following its service in Egypt in 1801.
