'The Troops Emerging from the Narrow Part of the Defile in the Koojah [sic] Pass', 1839

In spring 1839 a 12,000 strong British-Indian force, the Army of the Indus, under Sir John Keane invaded Afghanistan via Baluchistan. The Khojak Pass was situated between Quetta and Kandahar. Atkinson (1780-1852) accompanied the force as Superintending Surgeon.
