The Musa Bagh was a extensive garden complex in Lucknow. Designed by the French soldier-architect Claude Martin for Nawab Asaf ud-Daula (r. 1775-1797), during the Indian Mutiny (1857-1859) it witnessed fierce fighting on the final British capture of the city in March 1858. Parts of the rebel cavalry made a last stand there during their retreat from the city.
