Lithograph by J Atkinson, published by R Ackermann's Lithography, 1 June 1817. Number 13 of a series of sixteen lithographs, 'incidents of British bravery during the late campaigns on the continent. Graphically illustrated in a series of drawings on stone'.

The Chateau of Hougoumont was a strongpoint in the Duke of Wellington's defensive position at Waterloo. Alexander Fraser, 17th Lord Saltoun, commanded two Light Companies of the 1st Regiment of Foot Guards which defended the garden and orchard of the chateau.
