'Portraits of the General Officers', Waterloo Campaign, 1815
Aquatint by G Cruikshank and James Rouse, produced in conjunction with William Mudford's 'An Historical Account of the Campaign in the Netherlands, (London, 1817).
From left to right are: William, Prince of Orange, General I Corps, who fought at Waterloo; Frederick William, the 'Black Duke' of Brunswick, who was killed at the Battle of Quatre Bras on the 16 June 1815; The Duke of Wellington, the Allied commander during the campaign; General Lord Rowland Hill, commander of II Corps at Waterloo; Lieutenant-General Sir Thomas Picton who was killed at Waterloo, leading the 5th Infantry Division; Marshal Blücher, the Prussian commander; Henry Paget, Earl of Uxbridge and later 1st Marquess of Anglesey, who commanded the British Cavalry at Waterloo and lost a leg during the battle.
