1759 was Britain's most successful year in the Seven Years War (1756-1763). There were British victories in Canada and the West Indies as well as in Europe and at sea. This child's handwriting sampler illustrates a number of these actions.
From a sampler illustrating actions in the London Gazette's extraordinary - two showing capture of Guadeloupe and one of Quebec the surrender at Niagara and 'six other naval and historical incidents'.
