Photograph, India, 1911 (c).
Major (later Lieutenant Colonel) Dennis Coleridge Boles of the 17th (Duke of Cambridge's Own) Lancers.
The location is likely Changla Gali, a mountain resort, south east of Abbottabad, in modern Pakistan. It was the location for the Indian Army's School of Musketry, established in 1888.
From an album compiled by Lieutenant-Colonel George Frederick Joseph Paterson, 34th Sikh Pioneers, 1901-1937 (c).
