'Bridge over River Jhelum at Kohala', July 1905

The Jhelum RIver is a tributary of the River Indus. The photograph shows a steel bridge at Kohala in the Punjab, India. The bridge was constructed in 1899, washed away in 1990, and replaced by a new bridge in 1993. The buttress of an earlier bridge built in 1877 which was washed away by a flood in 1890 can also be seen.
