Troop guidon, Ringwood Light Dragoons Yeomanry Cavalry (Hampshire), 1802-1814

This guidon is unusual as the embroidress has signed her work. The reverse bears the following legend, 'This standard was worked by M A Cleeves' and the text continues on the front, 'by her presented on the 22 October 1802'. Some of the original design can still be seen, the leaves representing shamrocks have been painted. The embroidress has also depicted a royal coat of arms, a royal monogram and two horses.

The single troop Ringwood Light Dragoons were raised in 1798.
