Musket balls retrieved from the Waterloo battlefield, 1815
A small sample of the thousands of pistol, musket and carbine balls used on the 18 June 1815. In excess of 150 thousand men were involved in the battle that finally ended Napoleon's ambitions to once again seize power in France. These balls were found near the Chateau of Hougoumont, the scene of fierce fighting throughout the Battle of Waterloo.
