The print includes two uniform studies, 'Trooper - Present Day', and an 'Officer - 1837', the feathers and coronet insignia of the Prince of Wales, and four unit photographs and a calendar for 1911.
The 3rd (Prince of Wales's) Dragoon Guards was first raised as the Earl of Plymouth's Regiment of Horse in 1685. It saw service for two centuries before being amalgamated in 1922 into the 3rd/6th Dragoon Guards.Under the name of 3rd (Prince of Wales's) Dragoon Guards (1765-1922), the regiment saw service during the Bristol Riots (1831); the British Expedition to Abysinnia (1868); the Second Boer War (1899-1902) and during the First World War at the First Battle of Ypres (October 1914), the Second Battle of Ypres (April 1915) and the Battle of Cambrai (November 1917).
