Watercolour from 'Dress and Equipment of the Gloucestershire Regiment. 28th North Glos. 61st South Glos. 1694-1915', a volume of 37 single figure studies in watercolour, unsigned, possibly by F Stansell, 1915 (c).
The 61st was raised in 1758 during the Seven Years War (1756-1763). Their uniform included red coats with buff facings (tails, lapels and cuffs).
