Field tourniquets, 1850 (c)
Tourniquets were used to restrict blood loss from wounds. These examples were part of a surgeon's medical case from the 1850s which included an amputating saw and knives, forceps, tooth key and bullet extractor. The instruments were made by Evans and Company, Savigny and Company, Arnold and Sons and P Moore and Company.
