Order of the Two Sicilies, Italy 1808-1813
This medal is thought to have been taken from a French officer by Captain H Molloy of the 60th Regiment of Foot at Vittoria in 1813. A huge amount of booty was discarded by the army of Joseph Bonaparte after this battle and the pursuit of the retreating French was held up while the Marquess of Wellington's troops stopped to pocket plunder.
