15th Hussars, Officer in Review Order, 1828
One of 10 lithographs by M Gauci after E Hull, 1828. Published by Engelmann, Graf, Coindet and Company, 1828.
Hussars were light cavalry mounted on fast horses. They were used to fight skirmish battles and for scouting. Hussars wore pelisses: short fur edged jackets which were worn slung over the shoulder in the style of a cape, and were fastened with a cord.
