The 83rd (County of Dublin) Regiment of Foot was raised in 1793 for service during the Wars of the French Revolution (1792-1802). They subsequently served in the Caribbean and then fought with Wellington in the Peninsular War (1808-1814) and at Waterloo (1815). This print was published just before the 83rd were posted to Canada.
