Pattern 1842 Smoothbore Percussion Musket .75 inch, 1845
Made at the Tower of London Arsenal, London, 1845.
The Pattern 1842 Smoothbore Musket had an effective range of about 180 metres. Although rendered obsolete by the introduction of the Minié, it was still used by several infantry regiments of the 4th Division at the beginning of the Crimean War (1854-1856).
