State Trumpeter's coat worn at the Delhi Durbar of 1911 by Sergeant A F Thewlis, Household Cavalry
Lined with black sateen with Royal cipher of King George V. With gold covered metal thread lace applied to velvet cuffs and body of coat. The coat fastens with ball buttons covered in gold metal thread and metal hooks and eyes.
The Delhi Durbar of December 1911 was held to commemorate the coronation of King George V and Queen Mary as Emperor and Empress of India. Over 30,000 British and Indian soldiers attended the event.
