Sandbag protection outside Cumberland Terrace, near Regent's Park, London. The neo-classical terrace was designed by John Nash (1752-1835), under the patronage of the Prince Regent (later George iV) and was named after his brother, Ernest Augustus, Duke of Cumberland (1771-1851), King of Hanover (1837-1851).
The 3rd County of London Yeomanry was mobilised on 1 September 1939. 'B' and 'C' Squadrons moved to the Regent's Park Barracks in London while 'A' Squadron moved into billets at Cumberland Terrace, London.
