Church Parade. Minehead, 1939

The 3rd County of London Yeomanry (Sharpshooters) War Diary for 1939 records that the unit received the order to move to the seaside town of Minehead in Somerset on 8 September 1939. The 'War HQ' was moved to the Avenue Hotel and men were billeted in hotels, guest houses, cinemas and dance halls. The regiment left Minehead for Ilfracombe on 26 September 1939.
