Defensive booms in Taranto Harbour. 3rd County of London Yeomanry (Sharpshooters) sailed from Catania in Sicily, arriving at Taranto on the Italian mainland on 22 September 1943. Taranto was the scene of a devastating attack by British Fairey Swordfish torpedo bombers on the Italian Navy in 1940.
