A row of Sherman tanks lined up for inspection by Brigadier John Currie during 3rd County of London Yeomanry's operations in Sicily. Currie, a veteran of World War One, was commander of 4th Armoured Brigade and was later killed in action in Normandy. The two Sherman Mark 3 (M4A2) tanks, nearest the photographer, bear the names 'Abdiel' and 'Aphrodite' on their turrets.
