Grave marker inscribed, 'RIP Tpr. D Cornforth 7951750 3rd County of London Yeomanry Killed in Action 28.6.1944'.

Trooper Daniel Cornforth was one of several Sharpshooters killed in action during a tank battle on 27/28 June 1944. The Regiment were supporting the Highland Light Infantry in an attack on the town of Mouen. The unit's war diary records that six German tanks, including two Tigers, and two self-propelled guns were accounted for, at the cost of four M4 Shermans and three M3 Honey light tanks destroyed or knocked out of action.
