'Carnage and destruction', Falaise, 1944

Dead animals and burn-out vehicles at a road junction, the results of Allied attempts to encircle and destroy the German Seventh Army and Fifth Panzer Army trapped in the 'Falaise Pocket'.
According to the unit's war diary 3rd County of London Yeomanry (Sharpshooters) supported by the Royal Welsh Fusiliers, were in action near Falaise in mid-August 1944.
