Bill Barley, a despatch rider of 3rd County of London Yeomanry (Sharpshooters), 1940 (c)

The despatch rider sits on a Norton WD16H motorcycle. During the Second World War, Norton, like many other vehicle manufacturers, switched from civilian to military production and produced thousands of machines for the Army.
