From 1935 the 23rd (London) Armoured Car Company which became the 3rd County of London Yeomanry (Sharpshooters) was commanded by R K 'King' Jago. Section commanders included his brother Captain William 'Bill' Jago, and Captain Terence Green. These three part-time officers were all civil servants and former members of the South Irish Horse.
The insignia on the camouflaged scout car in the foreground is the white rhinocerous of the 1st Armoured Division. At the beginning of World War Two the 3rd County of London Yeomanry (Sharpshooters) was part of 22nd Armoured Brigade which became part of 1st Armoured Division in October 1940.
