'B' Squadron tank crew pose in front of a Sherman tank. The officer wears fur-lined boots and the crewman in the centre wears a holstered revolver. An additional plate of armour has been welded to the side of the hull to help protect the crew from armour-piercing shells.
The Sherman tank had a crew of five consisting of a commander, the driver, a gunner, a radio operator who also acted as gun loader, and a co-driver who also manned the hull machine gun.
