Grave of Trooper R. Head killed by a mine in the Gheel bridgehead, 1944

3rd/4th County moved into the Gheel bridgehead in Belgium on 13 September 1944. The regiment faced stiff German resistance as it advanced through the waterways of the Belgium-Dutch border.
