The Sharpshooters' war diary for 1944 mentions the unit, with 4th Armoured Brigade, situated near 'Asch' (As, Belgium) on the west bank of the canal on 20 September 1944. It undertook patrols across the canal from 21 to 25 September before moving on to Weert on the 26 September.
