The Regimental Tank Park at Sonnis where the regiment regrouped prior to the crossing of the Rhine, March 1945

Sherman tanks including, in the centre, a Firefly variant, armed with a powerful 17-pounder gun.

The regiment regrouped in the town of Sonnis in Belgium where they took over the old cavalry barracks between 10 and 14 March, in preparation for their move towards the crossing of the Rhine. The regiment's Sherman tanks were augmented by a number of replacement tanks that they took on from 44th Royal Tank Regiment.
