'C' Squadron, 3rd/4th County of London Yeomanry (Sharpshooters) advance on Botersen aerodrome, Germany, 1945

In the last weeks of World War Two (1939-1945) 3rd/4th County of London Yeomanry (Sharpshooters) were in action in Lower Saxony. British infantry and Sherman tanks advance up a road prior to capturing the airfield at Botersen. The Sharpshooters war diary entry for 26 April 1945 records that the aerodrome was captured by 'C' Squadron and infantry from the 4th Battalion, Welch Regiment, with no opposition. Ten German Air Force personnel were captured.
