In the last weeks of World War Two (1939-1945) 3rd/4th County of London Yeomanry (Sharpshooters) were in action in Lower Saxony. The Sharpshooters war diary entry notes that 'A' Squadron followed 1st Battalion Highland Light Infantry from Scheesel to Westerholz on the 23 April 1945.
