Crusader tanks of the 3rd County of London Yeomanry (Sharpshooters) being transported by railway in Egypt. The Sharpshooters arrived in Egypt in late 1941 and took part in the successful campaign to oust German and Italian forces from North Africa. After a baptism of fire in Libya, the regiment was withdrawn and for the first half of 1943 it remained near Cairo, refitting and training until July when it embarked for the amphibious landings on Sicily as part of 4th Armoured Brigade.
