Sidi Bishr, near Alexandria, was the site of British military camps in both World Wars. Crusader tanks and trucks can be seen in the photograph.
According to the unit's war diary, 3rd County of London Yeomanry (Sharpshooters) arrived in Sidi Bishr by road and rail in early February 1942. The unit trained at Sidi Bishr Camp, attending lectures on gunnery and mechanics and undertaking exchange visits with the Royal Navy. The unit moved its tanks on to Beni Yusef at the end of March 1942.
