Leather riding cane belonging to Field Marshal Sir Douglas Haig, 1915 (c)
This riding cane was a gift from Field Marshal Sir Douglas Haig to his mounted orderly, Staff Sergeant Haynes of the Royal Army Service Corps.
Haig was a keen horseman and a recognised authority on cavalry warfare. While in India he took part in the Kadir Cup, the annual pig sticking competition. He also excelled at polo.
