The Imperial Cadet Corps was formed from the sons of the Indian nobility and acted as a bodyguard on state occasions. They first appeared in this capacity at the Durbar of 1903, and accompanied King George V and Queen Mary as part of the bodyguard at their 1911 Delhi Durbar.
