Coloured lithograph, engraved and after Edward Hull, published by Ackermann's Lithographic Press, 1819.
Hussars were light cavalrymen mounted on fast horses. Used to fight skirmish battles and for scouting, Hussars wore a pelisses: a short fur edged jacket that was worn slung over the shoulder in the style of a cape, and fastened with a cord.
